Flavored spirits are a rather polarizing force in the world of mixology — some people completely dismiss them, while others (ourselves included) welcome them occasionally for very specific purposes. But in general, flavored vodka (and other flavored spirits) have grown exponentially in popularity over the years, and although there are some good quality brands out there, you will often pay more for the luxury of chemically flavored liquor — when you could be doing it yourself, and often doing it better.
Pencils out everyone, because vodka infusion school is in session!
Today we are tackling a topic very close to our hearts, because if we hear one more person tell us they are only drinking clear liquor because it is healthier and they are on a diet, we may just go into a rage blackout that never ends.
So sit back, relax, and get ready to shove some truth into the faces of your annoying friends who give you a look every time you order whiskey — it’s time for some myth-busting about the “healthiest” liquors!
Hello and happy TBT Classic Cocktail day here on The Woman At The Bar!
The weather has been inspiring us to make a lot of frozen drinks lately, and when it comes to ice cold frozen deliciousness, it is pretty hard to find something better than a frozen strawberry daiquiri–so we decided to make some!
Come inside and let us preach to you the gospel of the fresh and fruity adult slushy to cure all your ills.
In case it has not become clear to you yet, we here at The Woman At The Bar are huge tikidrink fans. But above all the tiki drinks, our favorite is the ominously named and ridiculously delicious Zombie.
And because we love you so much, we decided to stop holding out on you and just give you our recipe already!
Don’t laugh. Take a breath, and let your preconceived notions fall away. Yes, we are talking about a Malibu product for this week’s liquor spotlight. And yes, it is “white coconut” flavor. But no, we are not having some breakdown where we revert back into 19 year old college coeds. We are not about to suggest you make jello shots. So sit down, shut up, and pay attention.
