Happy Monday, everyone!
This is a very, very special Monday here at The Woman At The Bar, because today’s drink was created specifically for one you!
Diane, one of our wonderful readers, threw down the gauntlet and challenged us to create a drink inspired by her favorite dessert, strawberry cheesecake, and we are not ones to ever turn away from a challenge–so create we did!
This is the first of what we hope to be many drinks created with your input, so if you have a drink challenge for us, no matter how pie (or cheesecake!) in the sky it may seem, send it to our way and we will put on our mad scientist caps and get to inventing!
But for now, we hope that you all (but especially Diane) enjoy Diane’s Strawberry Cheesecake!
For the drink, you will need:
- 2 oz Stoli Vanil
- 1 oz Frangelico
- 1/2 oz heavy cream
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 3 small strawberries, chopped, plus one for garnish
Gather all of your ingredients plus your jiggers, muddler, cocktail shaker, and martini glass.
First off, chop up the strawberries and throw them into the bottom of the shaker glass.
Now measure out your Frangelico and add that in there.
Using your muddler, thoroughly muddle the strawberries with the liqueur. You really want to smash the strawberries into pulp, so go for it.
Now add in your cream. Make sure you use heavy cream here, not half & half or other milk.
Top that off with your simple syrup.
And last, but certainly not least, add in your Stoli Vanil!
Now fill your shaker tin 2/3 full of ice, pour over your ingredients, and shake for 30-60 seconds, or until your shaker tin is very cold and frosty.
Now strain your ingredients into your martini glass. You can just use your basic strainer, it is fine (preferable, even) for some of the smaller strawberry pieces to end up in the drink.
Now put a small strawberry on the side of your glass for garnish, and you are ready to go!
An adult slice of strawberry cheesecake, perfect for you and the sweet tooth in your life!
Enjoy everyone!
