Happy Tuesday everyone!
Today’s tools & tricks article is going high tech! Why, you ask? Because today we are talking about…
(drumroll please)
…an app!
And not just any app. An app that will take you from wine novice to wine aficionado with the click of a button–or a swipe on a touch screen, to be more specific.
Up top we just want to say that we are not being paid to endorse this app, so our opinions are strictly our very own.
That said, this thing is pretty amazing.
Here is the scoop:
If you are a lover of wine (like us) but not a huge wine connoisseur (neither are we) looking at wine lists in restaurants can be a bit daunting. You don’t want to look like an idiot when you order, but the lists are often (intentionally) confusing and will lead you to blindly choose something without really knowing what you are getting.
Well, no more!
(We have to say, we wish we had thought of this idea first, but oh well.)
WineGlass works like this:
1) snap a picture of the wine list at the restaurant
2) allow the little elves inside your phone to analyze the names listed.
3) click on each individual wine to find information on the wine, reviews, fair price ranges, flavors, and best pairings.
We have been testing it out for the past few days and it is freaking amazing. The interface is very easy to use, and thus far we have not had any problems with the text reader functionality.
You are also able to store all the menus that you have seen if you want to go back to them, can tag wines that you really liked for later, and make notes to remind yourself about specific wines in the future.
Honestly, we are in love with this, and we think you should be too.
The only catch (if you can call it a catch) is that the app is not free. We tend to be all-free [;p=]’\apps kind of ladies, but shilling out $4.99 for something like this is worth it. And it is a one time fee, there is no monthly subscription or anything like that, so in the end it is not too bad.
So what are you waiting for? GO GET IT!
Happy drinking everyone, we’ll see you tomorrow.
