Happy Hump Day, folks!
Since we gave you a wine primer yesterday, we thought today would be a perfect to introduce a wine-based quickie cocktail!
Are you ready for it?
Recently, we were re-introduced to the deliciousness that is rosé. Scoff and call it pink wine all you like, the stuff is delicious. Bright, light, fresh, and perfect for a summer-inspired quickie cocktail!
So, without further ado, for the Elderflower Blossom you will need:
- 1 1/2 oz gin
- 1/2 oz St. Germain
- 4-6 oz rosé
- (optional) lime wheel, for garnish
Gather your ingredients plus your jiggers, bar spoon, and serving glass.
First, fill your serving glass with ice. Since this is a quickie cocktail, we are making it directly in the glass.
Now measure out your 1 1/2 oz gin (dry, not Old Tom), and pour it into your glass!
Next, add in your 1/2 oz St. Germain. If you are unfamiliar with this product, St. Germain is elderflower-flavored liqueur. It is very sweet and floral, and is a perfect addition to a lighter wine cocktail (you will also often find sparking wine cocktails that include St. Germain). It adds a really lovely flavor to drinks, but make sure you only add a very small amount–it is very sweet and has a very strong flavor profile.
Now pour your rosé on top to finish it off.
Give the whole thing a quick stir, add your garnish, and you are ready to go!
The perfect summer evening quickie cocktail!
Enjoy, everyone!
