Welcome back, readers!
It’s Monday again, and that means we have another new recipe for you!
This week, we decided that we all needed a little jolt–of espresso, that is. So we combined three of our favorite things (coffee, dessert, and alcohol) to create the Espressotini!
You know how you get asked at restaurants if you would like coffee, dessert, or an after-dinner drink once you have finished your main course? Well, we here at The Woman At The Bar don’t think you should have to choose between those three, and so we decided to make one delicious concoction that combines the best qualities of each of them.
And thus, the Espressotini was born!
There is one caveat to this drink, however, and we want to get it out of the way up top: it requires that you have access to espresso. We apologize to the non-Keurig owners out there, but if you have a littleĀ gumption you can just go down to your local Starbucks, grab a shot of espresso, and then hustle back to your home bar to whip this up (the drink is cold, so it does not matter if the espresso gets a little cold on the drive).
Alright, are we all on the same page? Great. Let’s get to it.
For the Espressotini you will need:
- 1 1/2 oz vodka
- 3/4 oz Kahlua
- 3/4 oz Baileys
- 3/4-1 oz espresso
- 3-4 espresso beans, for garnish
Gather all of your ingredients plus your cocktail shaker, jiggers, and martini glass.
First, make your espresso, and pour the shot directly into your shaker glass.
Now add in your 1 1/2 oz vodka.
Next, add in your 3/4 oz Kahlua, followed by 3/4 oz of Baileys!
Fill your shaker tin 2/3 full of ice, pour in your ingredients, attach your shaker glass, and sh-sh-shake for 30-60 seconds.
Now strain that glorious, caffeinated nectar into your martini glass!
Carefully (so they don’t sink) place your espresso beans on top to garnish, and you are ready to go!
A perfect after-dinner cocktail, if there ever was one!
Cheers, everyone.
