Monday Funday #7: Summer Nights

Welcome back to another Monday Funday, everyone!

There are two things that we love: summer, and hard cider. Generally, these two things do not mix, but you know how we deal with challenges–we surpass them.

Tell me more, tell me more…

This week’s original creation blends some of our favorite flavors into a light and scrumptious cocktail perfect for summer evenings, or late nights, or afternoons… So let’s get right to it, shall we?

For the Summer Nights you will need:

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz Falernum
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz pear hard cider

Gather all of your ingredients plus your shaker glass, jiggers, bar spoon, and serving glass.

First, place your 2 dashes of Angostura bitters in the bottom of your shaker glass. Remember to hold your bitters bottle vertically, directly over your shaker glass. One shake is equal to one dash.

Next, add your 1 oz of lemon juice.

Now add your 1/2 oz of Falern-yum. 🙂

Finally, add in your 2 oz of vodka. We used Chopin potato vodka, but you are free to use whichever brand you prefer.

Now give the ingredients a stir–you do not need to add any ice to your shaker glass–and then strain your ingredients into your cocktail glass (you should have ice in that one). You still need to strain these ingredients to make sure that any pulp or seeds from the lemon do not transfer over into your drink.

Now top off your glass with your pear hard cider–approximately 2 oz.

Give the final product a quick stir, add a wedge of lemon to garnish, and you’re ready to go!

There you have it! A drink both the Pink Ladies and the T-Birds would approve of!

Enjoy, everyone.
