We promised you three drinks for the day, and three drinks you shall have! To finish it off we are heading to the hottest desert on earth: The Sahara.
The Sahara covers most of Northern Africa, spanning 3.6 million square miles, and is arguably the most well known desert on Earth. To celebrate its dominance, we are getting a bit fancy. You see, The Sahara is not to be trifled with–she knows she is the Queen, and she definitely Woke Up Like This. To make this ***Flawless creation, you will need:
- 2 oz vodka
- 1/4 oz cinnamon syrup
- 1/4 oz lime juice
- 1 oz grapefruit juice
- Chilled sparkling wine (preferably a dry champagne)
First things first, gather all of your ingredients plus your jiggers, large citrus press, bar spoon, and champagne glass.
Pour ice into the champagne glass to chill while you prep. Since we will not be shaking or stirring these ingredients with ice, the cold glass will help to keep everything chilled. Also, don’t forget to chill your champagne–please do not hurt us by pouring warm champagne into this drink. Please.
Next prep your juice. Squeeze half a small grapefruit (you will not use all of this juice, so try to conserve), and half of a lime.
Now remove the ice from your glass, and pour in your 1/4 oz lime juice. 1/4 oz cinnamon syrup, 1 oz grapefruit juice, and 2 oz of vodka.
Now give the ingredients a quick stir, before topping off the glass with your chilled bubbly!
Note: do not stir once you add the champagne. Just let everything settle.
Boom. This is a drink for the ages AND for every time of day. Fancier mimosa substitue? Absolutely. Perfect celebratory cocktail? Yep. Fabulous, “I had a great day and deserve a high five” drink? Hell yes. Wonderful, “my day sucked and I really need a pick me up” cure? Of course. The Sahara is here for you for all seasons, my friends.
